GENERAL FACTS ABOUT THE STUDIES
Both theory and practice are combined in the vocational training. The students receive practical training out of school at different companies or on the Livslust-Dzivesprieks's premises, while manufacturing their own products. The study period is for 2 or 3 years. The head teachers are employed by the school and they collaborate with external vocational teachers.

EVERYONE LEARNS ENGLISH, COMPUTER SKILLS AND DOMESTIC ECONOMICS
In addition to the vocational training, all students learn English as well as basic computer skills, and everyone help with the domestic tasks. Those who are about to finish school must take a "transfer course", where they learn more about cooking, hygiene, domestic work, private economy and about living in society.
We regularly arrange lectures on important subjects such as sex education, first aid, HIV/AIDS, alcohol and drugs.
SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS AND MICROLOANS OPEN FOR NEW POSSIBILTIES
The scholarship funds (the Oriflame Fund and the Roger Laavola Memory Fund) offers financial support to students who want to continue studying after leaving Livslust. Students with a particular interest, e.g. in art, can also get support from the fund. The students apply themselves for a scholarship that covers accommodation, tuition fees and/or course materials. The pupils can also apply for a microloan from the Hans Stråberg Start Fund in order to start their own business or take a drivers license.
THE STUDY PERIOD VARIES
The students' individual situation and needs vary depending on their childhood, background schooling and level of maturity. Most leave school as soon as they have finished their training, which means a stay at the school of two to three years. For some of the students, this may be too short a period to be able to manage on their own; in such cases they can stay until we deem them ready to leave the school.
