Children raised in orphanages often leave their own children to orphanages. Apart from their social inabilities, one reason for this might be the lack of role models. How would you know how to handle your own child if your own parents never looked after you? Young people need to experience what life is like in a well-functioning family. That is why we arrange for the teenagers from Livslust to stay with nice Swedish host families for a few weeks during the summer. This has proved mutually rewarding, and often leads to further contacts and more visits.

You can become a summer host!
The teenagers from Livslust are 15-21 years old, drug-free and with no a criminal record. A suitable length of stay in Sweden is two weeks. The teenagers are able to come during their summer holidays. The travel expenses from Latvia to the host family in Sweden are covered by Livslust. The host family covers board and lodging, and transport costs during the stay. There are no special requirements such as a big house or extra arrangements. The goal of the trip is primarily to give the teenagers an experience of real family.
